BERLIN – At the 16th European Bioplastics conference held as a hybrid event on November 30th and December 1st, a very positive outlook for the global bioplastics industry was forecast, with production set to more than triple over the next five years according to market data compiled in cooperation with Germany’s nova-Institute.
However, the European Union’s methodology for life cycle assessments has been criticised by European Bioplastics for favouring fossil-based over bio-based plastics.
