STOCKHOLM - Ahlstrom has announced an increase in earnings for its third quarter, boosted by stronger sales in its filtration, technical materials and packaging businesses.
"A strong performance in the third quarter supported by successful transformation related commercial and operational excellence initiatives," the company said. "A gradual change in the business environment with lower demand in certain end uses and continued stable demand in others."
Overall, net sales increased by 29.3% to €867.1 million, up from €670.6 in the same period last year. EBITDA increased to €91.1 million up from €61.4 million with an operating result of €46.5 million, up from €18.5 million.
The filtration sector posted sales of €159.7, up from €129.4 while the company's packaging business saw sales increase to €387.8 from €271.5.
"This was a strong performance in the third quarter," Ahlstrom said. "(There has been) a gradual change in the business environment, which has affected some businesses, while our diversified global market and business structure ensure continued resilience."
