MÜNSTER/SÃO PAULO - Hengst Filtration has acquired Brazil's Linter Group, a deal that is part of the German firm's strategy to expand its industrial and indoor air application business.

The Linter Group has been supplying the South American market with filtration solutions for keeping indoor air clean and improving water quality since 1995 with around 100 employees. The products can be found in the food industry, in laboratory and pharmaceutical facilities or in commercial air conditioning and ventilation technology.

Welcoming the deal, Christopher Heine, CEO Hengst, said the acquisition underlined the firm's claim to leadership in industrial filtration, while also expanding and strengthening its business in the South American market. "We have been operating in Brazil for over 20 years with a sales office in São Paulo and a production site in Joinville and are further expanding our presence in this growth market with the acquisition of the Linter Group," he said. "Linter has impressed us with its strong growth in recent years and we are pleased to be able to acquire one of the three leading companies in the field of industrial air filtration in Brazil for the Hengst Group."

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter 2022. The owners will remain with the company after the sale and will closely accompany the integration into the Hengst Group.

Following the deal, more than 3,600 employees at 22 locations on five continents will work for the Hengst Group which had sales of €585 million in its last fiscal year.
