Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

NORDKIRCHEN – To meet the high demand for medical protective suits and other items of PPE, German film producer CaPlast has recently converted its Reifenhäuser Lamicor coating lines to produce nonwoven/film composites that meet the DIN EN 14126 standard for medical protective clothing.

“We have several Reifenhäuser lines and produce a variety of products for very different application areas on them,” said CaPlast CEO Frederik Schaefer. “The special requirements for the protective clothing sector have been met extremely efficiently on our lines as a result of a simple and straightforward cooperation with Reifenhäuser, who also actively supported us in finding the right partners. We are currently producing a wide range of high-quality materials for the manufacture of protective gowns and suits.”

Reifenhäuser has all the necessary expertise to support similar moves by other companies with existing lines, or those thinking about setting up a new production facility for medical protective clothing.

In addition to the line technology, the machine builder can provide support with know-how on material requirements, product specifications and the necessary standards, as well as important contacts throughout the entire supply chain.
