PORCARI – A Stream master roll winder with a design speed of 300 metres per minute and a Rapid slitter rewinder with a design speed of 800 metres per minute have been supplied to Turkish nonwovens producer Merkas Textil by Italian technology specialist A.Celli.

They have been installed on an air-through bonding line at the Merkas plant in Istanbul and are both equipped with the ability to share data with the company’s ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.

“We share a long history of successful projects with A.Celli,” said Hakan Sisman, board member at Merkas Textil. “We are very proud of the work done by A.Celli and our team and impressed by the short time required to start-up the line. All this went beyond our best expectations and we are confident that A.Celli’s solutions will continue to help us in the continuous improvement of our production of high-quality nonwoven fabrics.”

Merkas Tekstil founded in 2010, is part of the Hassan Group and was the first company in Turkey to produce acquisition and distribution layers (ADLs) for the absorbent hygiene products market. It nonwovens are also use in the medical, apparel and filtration industries.
