Prague - Fabric manufacturer PFNonwovens has marked its 5th anniversary with an update on its latest expansion initiatives and product developments.
Over the last few years, the company has expanded its production capabilities to meet the increasing global demand for high-quality nonwoven fabrics and enhanced supply resiliency for the company and its partners.
These latest investments deliver have focused on producing fabrics with enhanced softness, customization, ultimate protection, and sustainability. Some of the new materials that have been developed include acquisition distribution layers, pants waist-belt nonwovens for babies and adult incontinence products as well as fastening components.
Amongst the most recent investments is the addition of a Reicofil line at its plant in South Africa, enhancing its supply capacity in the region. This was preceded by the purchase of Reicofil line in 2022 for its site in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, which reinforced its commitment to serving the American market. This line combines R5 technology with high-speed texturing and aperturing methodology to serve the premium product categories.
Additionally, PFNonwovens has introduced an advanced aperturing / 3D embossing line in its plant in the Czech Republic, broadening its manufacturing capabilities needs.
Elsewhere, the company has also updated on its sustainability milestones. The company's Znojmo facility in Czech Republic now holds the EcoVadis Gold certification, while facilities in South Africa, Egypt, and the United States have all recently achieved EcoVadis Silver certification.
"These certifications affirm the company's dedication to responsible and environmentally conscious operations," the company said. "PFNonwovens actively observes and encourages powerful sustainability trends."
As part of its ongoing innovation efforts, PFNonwovens also recently launched a new spunlaid fabric based on 100% biopolymer, a move which the company says highlight its dedication to providing sustainable materials that deliver exceptional performance, on par with petro-based resins for the Personal Care sector.
It has also embraced mass balance raw material sourcing, which is designed to ensure responsible and sustainable procurement practices. Additionally, PFNonwovens has obtained ISCC Plus Certifications in the Czech Republic, underscoring its commitment to sustainable sourcing and traceability.
