Freudenberg is to open a new manufacturing plant for specialist hygiene applications in Jacaré, near São Paulo in Brazil, as part of a €13.2 million investment in process optimisation and capacity expansion in South America.
"Thanks to a close cooperation with experts in Weinheim in Germany we will be able to manufacture even better specialist hygiene products in the future, using tried and tested technology," says Juan Carlos Borchardt, Freudenberg's regional representative for South America. "Our existing product portfolio will be expanded and we'll be able to manufacture quite special solutions, such as printed or especially light, cotton-like nonwovens."
