Paper machine manufacturer Voith Paper and nonwovens technology specialist Trützschler are joining forces to offer a complete production line for the manufacturing of wetlaid and hydroentangled nonwovens. The aim of the cooperation between the two German companies is to develop innovative and economical new production equipment.
Voith Paper will contribute its HydroFormer which has been specifically optimised for the formation of wetlaid nonwovens, and with more than 70 successful installations has gained worldwide acceptance. Voith will also provide support in respect of stock and water systems, press concepts, fabrics and calenders.
Downstream web bonding will be performed on Trützschler’s AquaJet hydroentanglement system, building on the extensive experience from more than 100 projects.
“We are certain that this partnership will enable us to offer convincing machine concepts,” says Marc Wolpers, Trützschler sales director for nonwovens and man-made fibres. “By providing common solutions we can meet the market requirements in a much better and faster way than we ever could by acting independently.”
Trützschler will also be responsible for the drying and winding equipmet supplied by the partners.
“This cooperation allows us to offer a complete line ranging from wet laying to bonding, drying and winding,” says Dr Klaus Afflerbach, who is responsible for special machines at Voith Paper. “The combination of the two wet processes lts in high quality webs that will be of interest to manufacturers of wipes and cleaning cloths arounf the world.”
