Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

TOKYO – Mitsui Chemicals has doubled the capacity for industrial-use meltblown nonwovens at its Sunrex Industry wholly-owned subsidiary in Japan.

The subsidiary started manufacturing at the new Sunrex facility in January and has now added a second line there.

In addition to its Syntex-branded materials for face masks which are currently highly in demand, Sunrex also makes meltblown grades for car seats and agricultural sheeting as well as filter media.

Materials from the new line are based on superfine fibres, no more than several hundred nanometres in diameter.
