Environmental news and technical  innovation in the nonwovens sector

The conductive nonwoven has been laminated onto a TPU film on top of a rigid carrier and a laser process is then employed to structure the electronic layout and the surplus material is removed. A further lamination of TPU film topped by a fire resistant aramid nonwoven is then made and laser cutting of the outline repeated. Three German companies have joined forces to work on a project aimed at the development of nonwoven-based printed circuit boards and actuators that are fire resistant, flexible and possess suitable drape for apparel applications. Adrian Wilson reports.
