Ten Questions For...Christian Heinrich Sandler, president and CEO, Sandler AG
Sustainable Nonwovens: Visitors to the IDEA 16 exhibition in Boston are being invited to the Sandler ‘Mansion and Garden’. Could you explain a few of the ideas behind this concept?
Christian Heinrich Sandler: Our nonwovens are increasingly being applied as textile alternatives for various construction applications. In fact, they cover such a number of uses that you could actually talk about a “textile building”. In fulfilling their various functions in construction, they primarily provide comfort, in respect of the indoor climate, but also in knowing that environmentally-sound materials are being used and that energy consumption is being lowered through efficient insulation. These two concepts – the textile building and the comfort nonwovens provide – are at the centre of the booth design. Sandler invites visitors to a veritable mini-break in the world of nonwovens.
