Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

kaiFollowing successful trials, TenCate Geosynthetics has secured the contract for the Kai Tak project which is being carried out next to the old Hong Kong International Airport.

The project, which started in mid-December and should be complete by June next year, involves the removal and remediation of 140,000 cubic metres of contaminated sludge in preparation for a cruise ship terminal currently under construction at the site, with the capacity to berth two large 360-metre-long vessels capable of accommodating a 5,400 passengers and 1,200 crew.

TenCate, which manufactures both woven and nonwoven geotextiles, is supplying a large number of its Geotube containers for the project.
