BRUSSELS – There are many obstacles to establishing a circular supply chain for absorbent hygiene products (AHPs) and no pilot separation and recycling scheme trialled to date has proved workable, although rigorous research schemes and trials are ongoing.

This was a key takeaway from EDANA’s first Sustainability Forum which attracted over 150 nonwovens industry professionals to the Solvay Library in Brussels.
