SEATTLE – Amazon has this month published a list of 1,500 of its own-brand suppliers on its website, in a bid to be a forerunner in transparency. The list includes a number of well-known companies involved in the nonwovens and absorbent hygiene product (AHP) industries such as First Quality, Georgia-Pacific, Kimberly-Clark, Nice Pak, SCA and US Nonwovens.
It is notable that all of them are based in the USA, with the exception of SCA, compared to the roughly 500 suppliers for apparel and household items on the list from China, and the many more from other parts of Asia.
