AHMEDABAD – Indian startup firm Saathi has developed sanitary pads made from discarded banana tree fibres in a bid to make pads affordable in India and reduce the environmental impact of their use. The company says only 16 per cent of women in India use sanitary pads at all, mainly due to poverty, which can lead to major health complications.
