Entries are currently being invited for the Techtextil Innovation Award, with the the winners to be announced at the trade fair which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 4-7.
The award will recognise innovative ideas and future-oriented developments in the field of technical textiles, nonwovens and functional apparel textiles in the following categories:
- Research
- New materials, products, means of production, manufacturing and finishing technologies.
- New materials and products for technical applications employing natural fibres.
- New materials, technologies, processing and finishing developments, including fibres and yarns, finishes, nanotechnology and electronic systems in garments.
- Fashion materials exhibiting new technologies and new materials, design concepts and aesthetic considerations.
- Textiles and apparel with potential medical applications.
- Sportswear and active wear combining comfort and functionality.
- Smart and intelligent textiles.
The jury will accept all developments that have been introduced to the the market within the past two years and have not been chosen for any other award
The deadline for receipt of entries – which can be made online at www.techtextil-award.com – is February 20 2015.
