INDA’s 2014 World of Wipes (WOW) conference is just a week away, with the winner of this year’s Innovation Award to be announced next Thursday (June 5th).
The award recognises the product that most expands the use of nonwovens and demonstrates creativity, novelty, uniqueness and technical sophistication within the field of nonwoven wipes.
The four finalists selected for it are:
- Andritz Nonwoven for its new flushable substrate patterning process. This applies unique artwork onto flushable wipes allowing producers to differentiate their products and show the correct disposal method with consumer friendly branding. The company says the key value proposition is that the process adds a pattern without increasing fibre bonding, ensuring that wet-strength release when flushed is unimpeded.
- Pacon Manufacturing for its Minwax wood finishing cloths. These provide a new way conveniently and easily stain and finish wood and include all necessary components in a handy single package.
- Nice-Pak for its new moist flushable wipe manufactured from 100% plant-based fibres by a new process. The company says the product delivers consumer-preferred strength while requiring less energy to disperse.
- ITW Professional Brands for its Sertun rechargeable sanitizer indicator towels. These incorporate unique colour check technology that indicates when service towels are effectively sanitizing.
All finalists will present their products during WOW 2012, which takes place from June 2-5, at The Depot Renaissance Hotel, Minneapolis, Minesota.
