Recycled materials represent the fastest growing of Europe’s ‘eco-industries’, according to EU Environment Commissioner Janez Potocnik, with growth since 2008 of 18% per year.
The recycled materials industry now provides more than three million direct jobs and in the next few weeks the European Commission will outline proposals for revised recycling and landfill diversion targets beyond 2020.
