    Outlast Technologies says its Aersulate fibres can improve insulation performance by up to 35% in apparel and bedding applications

    HEIDENHEIM - Outlast Technologies has developed a patent-pending process for integrating silica-based aerogel directly into viscose fibres, targeting lightweight insulation products for apparel, bedding and other nonwovens and textile applications.

    Outlast says independent testing found up to a 35% improvement in insulation performance of its Aersulate fibres, which contain an aerogel volume of 50%,  compared with conventional viscose fibres.
