BRUSSELS – Nonwovens association EDANA has announced the three laureates of the Poster Contest award at this year’s Nonwovens Innovation Academy (NIA).
As previously reported on the Sustainable Nonwovens website, 15 candidates were awarded the annual R&D student grant last month for their innovative nonwovens-related research projects.
As such, the candidates were invited to the NIA event in Chemnitz, Germany, from the 25-26 October, to present posters detailing the individual projects. At the event, the candidates presented their concepts to a panel of experts in the field of nonwovens innovation and development, where three winners were selected.
The laureates presented the following concepts: A technical and economic self-optimisation solution for nonwoven cards; the development of nonwovens by modacrylic fibres for industrial applications; and the development of nonwoven air filters for petrol and diesel engines.
The trio are now invited to attend the International Nonwovens Symposium, to be held in Rome, Italy from 23-24 May 2018, in front of around 250 attendees to present their potentially investable ideas.
