Finalists for the fourth annual RISE Durable Product Award have been named by organiser INDA.

    They are:

    • Fitesa, for its 100% biobased spunbond nonwoven fabric. This is aimed at the hygiene and personal care markets and has a sheath-core, bicomponent configuration providing significant softness and robust strength. It is the result of a three-way collaboration using entirely plant-based materials between Fitesa Braskem and NatureWorks.
    • Conversion Technologies International for CT meltblown filter cartridges which can be specified with a variety of thermally bonded end caps and springs, eliminating the need for resins and adhesives. This results in a completely ‘green’ construction and the cartridges are FDA compliant and approved for food and beverage use.
    • Louis P. Batson for its Texnology Ellittica elliptical needle loom. With this technology the needles both push and pull the web forward, eliminating drafting for the bonding of  light materials, airlaids or any product with low tensile features.
    • Polymer Group (PGI) for the new highly breathable AAMI 4 laminate. This 60 gsm breathable and fully impervious laminate passes AAMI 4 standard – the highest level of protection against virus in the surgical gown and protective apparel industry. The material delivers outstanding barrier properties and comfort while moving moisture away from the body to the outer fabric surface.

The finalists will make presentations during the second day of the three-day RISE and N3M Conference, which takes place from February 9-12 in Miami, Florida.

Attendees will then cast their votes for the winner.
