Calla Lily joins UTI treatment programme

Calla Lily Clinical Care will assess its nonwoven-based, intravaginal drug-delivery platform in Wellcome Leap’s antibiotics programme

LONDON - Calla Lily Clinical Care has joined Wellcome Leap’s $50m Focused Antibiotics programme to evaluate its Callavid intravaginal drug-delivery platform for targeted treatment of urinary tract infections.

The London-based clinical-stage women’s health company will investigate whether the leak-free, tampon-like device can deliver antibiotics locally through the vaginal wall while limiting systemic exposure.
