    Albany International and Sweden’s Cyclezyme have reported progress on an enzyme-based recycling project aimed at industrial textiles made mainly from polyester and polyamide

    The technology centres on breaking down technical textiles into their constituent building blocks

    ROCHESTER – Albany International, the manufacturer of custom fabrics and belts for production in the nonwovens sector, is reporting progress of enzyme-based recycling for industrial textiles, with successful depolymerisation of selected material samples reported in the latest update.

    The project, with its partner Cyclezyme, centres on breaking down technical textiles into their constituent building blocks so they can be reused in new production.
