Study on a 40 gsm polyester–viscose spunlace web finds longer fibre circulation and improved mixing in double-drum carders lift tensile performance

Carding machine used in the process

ZIELONA GÓRA - Double-drum carding machine design can materially affect fibre mixing and the strength of spunlace nonwoven fabrics, new research suggests.

Working on an industrial line, the research team from the University of Zielona Góra in Poland found that greater fibre circulation through the carding zone was linked with higher MD and CD tensile strength.
