Autoneum adds acoustic capacity in China

WINTERTHUR – Automotive components specialist Autoneum is constructing two new production facilities in China to manufacture interior and acoustic components for several recently awarded vehicle programmes, including contracts with Chery, as part of its long-term local-for-local supply strategy for Chinese OEMs.

The larger of the two plants is located in Wuhu, Anhui province, with a planned total area of 20,000 square metres, targeting series production in the second half of 2026. A second facility in Anqing, also in Anhui province, will provide a 5,000 square metre production area, with both sites expected to employ around 400 people once fully operational.
