EDANA joins groups opposing SUPD revision

BRUSSELS – EDANA has joined a coalition of European industrial associations to urge EU institutions to keep the current text of the Single-Use Plastics Directive, arguing that reopening the law now would create legal uncertainty and compliance costs across affected sectors.

The joint statement, issued in Brussels on 1 July 2026, says the directive adopted in 2019 should be evaluated on the basis of better evidence before any revision is considered.
