Metsa plans wood‑based carbon capture plant

ESPOO - Metsä Group has begun pre‑engineering for what it describes as its first commercial plant for capturing wood‑based, or biogenic, carbon dioxide at its pulp mill in Rauma, south‑west Finland.

The project is positioned as an early step towards large‑scale utilisation of mill flue gases as a feedstock for low‑carbon chemical and fuel value chains.
