Mann + Hummel widens lignin-based filter range

Mann + Hummel is extending lignin-impregnated air and oil filter media into series production for millions of vehicles, scaling plant-based materials in the independent aftermarket

The number of lignin-based filter part numbers in the range has more than doubled

LUDWIGSBURG - Mann + Hummel says it is expanding its aftermarket portfolio of air and oil filters based on lignin-impregnated media, moving the technology further into series production for passenger cars and vans.

The development forms part of the company’s wider sustainability strategy to cut the CO₂ footprint of filtration products without changing established performance or logistics for workshops and distributors.
