Celanese and SharpCell partner on lower‑carbon airlaid nonwovens

Celanese and SharpCell Oy are integrating carbon‑capture‑based binders into airlaid nonwovens lines to cut the product carbon footprint of wipes, tabletop and hygiene substrates

DALLAS - Celanese Corporation and Finnish nonwovens manufacturer SharpCell have entered into a cooperation agreement to apply carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technology to binder‑bonded airlaid nonwovens.

The collaboration aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with binder systems while maintaining the processing performance required for high‑volume disposables.
