Collaboration between US-based Nonwovens Institute and the US army is scaling a new melt spinning platform to accelerate functional nonwovens for filtration and chemical-biological protection
NORTH CAROLINA – The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC) has installed a second-generation melt spinning line developed in collaboration with Nonwovens Institute (NWI) and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
The new platform is intended to speed the development of polymer-based nonwoven structures for filtration and wider chemical and biological (CB) protection applications.
