MUMBAI – Strata Geosystems has acquired Venus Interlinings, marking the geosynthetics specialist’s formal entry into the nonwoven geotextiles market and broadening its engineered textiles portfolio.

The deal combines Strata’s global engineering and geosynthetics expertise with Venus Interlinings’ established manufacturing base in nonwovens and technical textiles, including a state-of-the-art production facility in India.

Founded in 1995 by R.R. Taparia, Venus Interlinings has built a reputation for quality, reliability and long-term partnerships with major industry customers, government agencies and export houses in technical textiles and nonwovens.

The company has been led since 2008 by Ravi Taparia, who has driven a programme of modernisation, introducing advanced processes, new technologies and expanded product capabilities to align with evolving market demands in geotextiles and related applications. He will continue as head of the business under the new ownership structure, with the transaction structured as a mix of cash and equity to preserve continuity in leadership, culture and strategy.

Strata said the acquisition will significantly enhance its vertically integrated capabilities, deepen its technical know-how in nonwoven geotextiles and accelerate innovation across geosynthetic and engineered textile solutions. The combined group plans to deliver greater value to customers in infrastructure, environmental, industrial and geotechnical sectors through a broader product offering and closer collaboration in development and manufacturing.

Ravi Taparia commented: “Since 1995, Venus Interlinings has stood for strong values, consistent quality, and customer-centric innovation. Partnering with Strata allows us to carry this legacy forward, unchanged in leadership, united in purpose and focused on building the next phase of collaborative and sustainable growth.”

Gautam Dalmia, chief development officer at Strata Geosystems, added: “As Strata continues its global growth journey – both organic and inorganic – partnering with Venus Interlinings is a natural strategic fit. Their technical depth, manufacturing excellence, and legacy in the non-woven space complement our focus on innovation, quality, and building long-term value. Together, we look forward to unlocking new opportunities and strengthening our global presence.”
