RIYADH – Beaulieu International Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alujain Corporation for a strategic joint venture to produce synthetic fibres and nonwovens locally in Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Industrial City.

The partnership merges Alujain’s established petrochemical platform, including its GEONATPET operations, with Beaulieu’s expertise in polyolefin and bicomponent fibres for nonwovens applications like geotextiles, hygiene, and filtration.

The venture targets expansion of Alujain’s GEONATPET facility in Yanbu, enhancing production of polymers, staple fibres, and nonwovens. GEONATPET specialises in geosynthetics for infrastructure, aligning with prior initiatives like Natpet’s geotextile plant that produces thousands of tonnes annually. Pending regulatory approval, it will leverage state-of-the-art machinery to boost efficiency and supply chain resilience for global customers.

Beaulieu CEO Jean-Baptiste De Ruyck highlighted the move as a commitment to global manufacturing growth, bringing advanced fibre technologies to Saudi Arabia for superior reliability and value. Alujain CEO Khalid Al Dawood emphasised downstream strategy, accelerating localization of materials for construction and environmental uses while advancing Vision 2030 export goals.

This collaboration is aimed at fostering technology transfer, industrial localisation, and positioning Saudi Arabia as a nonwovens hub. It also supports infrastructure projects and enhances global fibre supply, combining Beaulieu’s European production sites with Alujain’s regional assets.

Al Dawood, commented: “This partnership represents a significant milestone in Alujain Corporation’s downstream growth strategy and our ambition to provide advanced geosynthetics solutions for major infrastructure projects.

“In collaboration with Beaulieu, we will accelerate the localization of advanced materials that are critical to infrastructure, construction, and environmental applications, while supporting the Kingdom to deliver its Vision 2030 ambitions and expanding the Kingdom’s export capabilities to global markets.”
