PORCARI - The slitter rewinder is one of the most important parts of the nonwovens production line, but companies often use outdated machinery that lacks adequate safety features and prevents them from achieving the maximum possible productivity.

A.Celli offers a patented slitter rewinder upgrade called Slittomatic that will provide high precision in the positioning of the slitting units to enable less manpower requirement, easier and faster knife and counter-knife positioning operations, the elimination of human error when positioning knives, increased efficiency and mproved maintenance monitoring

This is all managed via proprietary software accessed through a user-friendly dashboard and the Slittomatic system can be installed on any existing in-line or off-line slitter rewinder and comes already set up for the installation of a dust removal system.

One company recently benefiting from this upgrade is Fibertex Personal Care, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of spunbond/spunmelt nonwoven fabrics for the personal care industry.

The company’s existing slitting system was beginning to show signs of age and the company wanted to increase speed during changeovers and ensure technical reliability, with full control over knives positioning and precision, in order to be able to set them quickly and accurately according to predefined recipes. Fibertex also wanted to be able to change slitting recipes quickly and efficiently.

The new Slittomatic upgrade has significantly reduced slitter rewinder downtime, in part thanks to intelligent maintenance monitoring, with improved production uptime, electrostatic bar knife life performance and slitting dust removal.
