COLOMBES - Arkema, the manufacturer of specialty materials, waterborne binders and additives for textile and nonwovens, is featuring a wide range of products offering a balance of performance, processability and more sustainable technologies at Techtextil.
The company is showcasing its portfolio of Encor acrylic, thermoplastic, self-crosslinking and thermoset polymers, for use in printing and finishing processes for textile, consolidation and finishing for nonwovens and fiberglass.
This includes next-generation formaldehyde-free binders such as Encor 1230S acrylic copolymer, which imparts a medium-soft hand, excellent washing and dry cleaning resistance when used in textile coatings and the preparation of pigment printing pastes; and Encor 1219 acrylic copolymer, which is well suited for foam applications in the textile and nonwoven industries. Because of its functionalization, Encor 1219 copolymer also shows a good compromise between self-crosslinking and thermoplastic properties, with a good adhesion on both natural and synthetic fibres.
According to Arkema, its range of formaldehyde free polymers can help product formulators meet sustainable requirements. Alongside these products, Arkema also offers a full range of Viscodis additives for textile and nonwovens.
