WELLFORD - Leigh Fibers is marking this year's 100th anniversary celebrations with the installation of a new line, which the company says will open up new opportunities for its reprocessed fibres for non-automotive markets.
“The new thermal-bonded Airlay line will help expedite fibre development and help us to better understand the fibre’s value in the finished product," the company said in a statement. "Continuing to invest in the value that recycled fibres creates in the nonwoven market will shorten the development process for new engineered fibres and allow the company to better communicate the advantages of the overall product to both the customer and the end consumer.”
According to Leigh, the new equipment demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to developing new technologies and processes for its customers. “The company wants to assure partners that this new technology will not compete with them in the market and is specifically designed to better support them in a tight labour and supply chain environment,” the company said.
Family-owned Leigh Fibers, based in Wellford, South Carolina, manufactures engineered fibre solutions for several markets, including automotive, bedding, caskets, furniture, apparel, acoustic insulation, sporting equipment and other specialty fibers.
