LINZ - Following a successful project with Lenzing, nonwovens technology manufacturer Autefa has confirmed that its spunlace line equipped with the Hydroentanglement Machine V- Jet FUTURA is now available for further customer trials.

Customers making use of the trial will have access to the full portfolio of Autefa's nonwovens machinery covering the entire “bale to fabric” process. This includes opening and blending, web forming, hydroentanglement, drying as well as cutting and winding.

Christoph Machill, Head of Business Unit Spunlace explained: "Our new line, targeted with full power and know how, over the last few years is now ready for the market. We are focused to offer solutions also with regard to the processing of biodegradable products.”

Although still a challenging time for the spunlace sector, Autefa Solutions offers complete lines for the production of direct and crosslapped spunlace products. The web forming process, consisting of the Injection Card and Crosslapper Topliner CL 4006 CL, is described as the key for high and consistent nonwoven fabric quality, while advanced Spunlace technology with Hydroentanglement Machine V- Jet Futura and Square Drum Dryer SQV is said to offer a quick return on investments.

The V- Jet FUTURA technology is designed to consume 30% less electrical energy with the unique V-Jet-construction ensuring a significantly reduced distance between the nozzle and the fabric to be bonded. Moreover, the Square Drum Dryer SQ-V combines the advantage in drying efficiency of a horizontal belt dryer with the space advantage of a drum dryer, resulting in increased drying length with a smaller footprint. The result is that thermal energy savings of up to 30% can be achieved compared to other drying technologies used in the spunlace process.

According to Autefa, this complete line now offers excellent opportunities for trials, particularly when it comes to supporting customers in developing new advanced products. A recent example of this the project involving a team from Lenzing, which was was invited for trials at the Competence Center in Linz to test their Veocel branded cellulosic nonwoven fibres.

"Fiber opening and blending, Injection card, Hydroentanglement Machine V- Jet Futura and Square Drum Dryer SQV are all available," Autefa added. "Further products like spunbond, wetlaid or crosslapped drylaid can be unwound between the Injection Card and the subsequent V-Jet FUTURA with the installed equipment enabling realistic impressions of the quality, workmanship, capability, and performance of Autefa Solutions machinery."
