ANNAN – A £53 million order to make personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS Scotland has been secured by Alpha Solway, part of the Globus Group, based in Dumfriesshire.

This follows incentives in Scotland including the installation of a new meltblown line at Don & Low in Forfar and Honeywell’s new production line at its plant in Newhouse.

Alpha Solway – which secured the order through national supplier Arco – will make 232 million surgical masks and two million visors to meet demand for Scotland’s health and social care sectors until summer 2021.
