NORRKÖPING – Between the end of 2018 and the end of 2019, Investkonsult Sweden – the specialised broker and consultant for nonwoven and absorbent hygiene producers – has brokered three Reicofil lines and secured new homes for them, ensuring they were not scrapped by their previous owners.

“Our opinion is that we are the only company in the industry to have successfully brokered and sold Reicofil lines,” says Johan Berlin, managing director of Investkonsult Sweden (pictured). “The three lines sold over this last year complement another Reicofil and a line with STP technology that we sold in 2016 and 2017 respectively. When we sold the first one in 2016, it was the first Reicofil 3-series line ever to shift hands, excluding full company acquisitions of course.

“Strangely enough, the spread on where the lines have gone has been somewhat erratic, but that only proves that there is still life for these lines and if you know your markets well enough, it’s possible to find clients.

“The first line we shifted went from Europe to Southeast Asia, then the one with STP technology went from South America to Europe. During this 12-month period, we have seen one line go also within Europe, one line move from Middle East to Europe and the last one with SMMS-technology move from companies both in the USA..”

Investkonsult has also recently commissioned the first dedicated two-beam meltblown line in India.

“That was a full turn-key operation, not only brokering the line from seller to buyer, but actually performing the full start-up and commissioning in India,” Berlin explains.

Investkonsult Sweden is the world’s only machinery broker and consultant specialized in serving clients in two very close segments –the nonwoven producers as well as the absorbent hygiene producers.

This gives the company a unique position in surveying the supply chain in large parts of the industry. The company’s consulting is often employed for pre and post M&A assessments, as well as second opinions on M&As – often engaged by the larger accounting firms such as Ernst & Young, PwC, etc.
