First PET-bottles from 100% recycled plastic

CLERMONT-FERRAND – Carbios, the French company pioneering new bioindustrial solutions to reinvent the lifecycle of plastic and textile polymers, has successfully produced the first PET-bottles made with 100% purified terephthalic acid (rPTA), through the enzymatic biorecycling of plastic waste.

The company is claiming the achievement as a world-first, confirming the potential of its technology to engage the whole industry in a responsible transition towards a circular economy.
