Bio-on, headquartered in Bologna, Italy, has signed a new €55 million multi-license contract with an unspecified major multinational company. The aim is to replace conventional plastic packaging with materials based on Bio-on’s PHA biodegradable biopolymers and the plan envisages the construction of a series of PHAs bioplastic production plants to achieve an overall output of 100,000 tonnes per year.
