Virent, based in Madison, Wisconsin,has established a strategic consortium with Coca Cola, Johnson Matthey, Tesoro and Toray, aimed at completing the development and scale up of its proprietary BioForming technology.The objective is to establish a commercial facility to produce cost effective, bio-based fuels and bio-paraxylene as a key raw material for the production of 100 per cent bio-PET.
