Polypropylene staple fibre supplier Beaulieu Fibres International has introduced new polyolefin bicomponent fibres for nonwovens to its Meraklon speciality fibre portfolio.
They are based on a polypropylene (PP) core and polyethylene (PE) sheath. PE offers softness in the nonwoven, whilst high strength and thermal stability is provided by the solid PP core, making them ideal for topsheets for absorbent hygiene products.
