A top class programme has been arranged over the two days of EDANA’s 2015 Nonwovens Innovation Academy which takes place at the University of Leeds in the UK from November 5-6.
It begins with an optional guided tour of the Nonwovens Research Group and NIRI laboratories which are extensively equipped with fibre extrusion and pilot production nonwoven lines, aided by modelling and simulation, rapid prototyping and robotics. Details will be provided of the latest research areas related to blood filtration, infection control, drug delivery, wound dressings and tissue engineering, in addition to gas filtration, protective fabrics, automotive components and sustainable product design.
The keynote speaker who will begin the conference on the afternoon of November 5th is Bryan Haynes, director of global nonwovens research and engineering at Kimberly-Clark. His speech will explore the potential for moving from incremental improvements to breakthrough innovations that can make a real impact on the market.
