Without a doubt, wearable, sensor-containing new technologies are set to become the next wave of hygiene and healthcare disposables which the nonwovens manufacturing supply chain needs to be alert to.

There will be a wide range of them showcased at the Wearable Technologies conference and exhibition which takes place in Munich, Germany next week, and at the ISPO sports gear show at the same venue.

One obvious contender as a new mass-market consumer disposable is the eSkin Thermometer, developed by VivaLnk of Santa Clara, California – a simple and effective patch for measuring and remotely monitoring body temperatures – specifically of sleeping infants.
