Wellman International introduced its new ‘eco-fine’ fibre range, at the Heimtextil 2015 exhibition which took place in Frankfurt, Germany, last week (January 14-17).
Made from European PCR (post consumer recycled) feedstock, the new range broadens the company’s fibre decitex range capability from 44 decitex down to 1.7 decitex and will significantly strengthen its position as both the largest polyester staple fibre producer and PET recycler in Europe.
Eco-fine 1.7 is siliconised, a premium, uniquely sustainable product offering the ultimate in luxury with enhanced drape and a silk like touch. It is ideal for select bedding and apparel applications and also compliments the Wellman eco-core fibre filling product family, with the potential for cover stock production.
Wellman also featured the specialised Cirrus and Celliant fibre ranges which deliver specific functionality in respect of vapour management and body energy optimisation to promote a full and sound night’s sleep and which are also now available as a 1.7 decitex fibre.
The Wellman International raw material and fibre production processes are supported by an independent, published LCA study which validates its provision to the market of European, accredited and sustainable fibres.
