The Haier Group, a multi-national consumer appliances and home electronics company based in Qingdao, China, has teamed up with Dow Water & Process Solutions (DW&PS) to develop a new water reduction filter for washing machines based on porous hollow nanofibres.

Haier is introducing the Casarte eco-friendly washing machine enabled by Dow ultrafiltration (UF) technology. The washing machine is designed and built with the new Dow Purinze UF module that allows a reduction in water consumption of more than 30% while improving water quality by removing as much as 99% of common bacteria.
