A new study reveals that using high-efficiency air filters with MERV ratings of 12 or higher can effectively reduce indoor levels of common airborne asthma and allergy triggers.

In addition, the study, carried out by Environmental Health and Engineering, Inc., (EH&E) of Needham, Massachusetts and published in the Journal of Asthma, asserts that certain 3M Filtrete filters based on meltblown nonwovens can be over nine times more effective than standard fibreglass filters in this respect.
