Among keynote speakers at the 53rd Dornbirn Man-Made Fibre Congress – which takes place from September 1-12 2014 in Austria –will be Frédéric van Houte of CIRFS and Pierre Wiertz of EDANA.

As the leaders of the representative bodies for Europe’s manmade fibres and nonwovens industries respectively, both will provide overviews of global challenges and opportunities.

Finance and the economy are currently influencing the rhythm of manufacturing in Europe in respect of  innovation (time to market), efficiency (resources, the consumption of raw materials, energy, sustainability, recycling etc.) and ultimately competitiveness. This, it will be suggested, calls for new systems of interdisciplinary cooperation and life cycle analyses of entire processing chains.

Over 100 lectures will be presented at Dornbirn 2014 over the three days, with this year’s general sector themes being Fibre and Filament Innovations, Nonwovens and Filtration, Key Technologies, Automotive and Global Strategies for Change.

More than 800 participants from 30 countries are expected this year.
