There was a discernible mood of optimism at this week’s JEC Composites show in Paris, which attracted some 32,000 visitors to assess the current developments of around 1,200 industry suppliers.

A key theme continues to be advanced lightweighting and the push to achieve a success with composites in cars and commercial vehicles which compares to what’s already been rapidly achieved in the aerospace sector.

This in turn, is leading to further advanced developments in respect of the automation and robotics programmes necessary for economic, high volume series production.
