Magna International – the leading Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry which is anticipating 2014 sales of between $33-35 billion – is getting pretty excited about a new kind of bioplastic.
Created in Italy through the use of naturally-occurring bacteria which feed off sugar beet by-products, its manufacturer believes it could eventually find applications in everything from nonwovens and textiles in interiors to replacements for metal parts.
